Virtual Floppy Drive – Floppy Disk Imaging and Virtualization Part II

In the previous article of this two-part series, I revealed how to create floppy disk image file from Diskcopy.exe. I was trying to find tools similar to IsoBuster and Daemon Tools – which are used for CD Imaging and Virtualization – that dealt with floppy disk images. As I mentioned in that article, for us PC users, floppy disk and their corresponding tools are necessary since we still haven’t made the complete switch to CDs and USB/Firewire portable drives (unlike our lucky Mac counterparts:)).

After much time spent designing and programming, I am releasing another blog that is going to be written by myself. It is called “hacker not cracker – computer enthusiasts and wannabes welcomed.” Basically, it is an advanced computing blog. The reason why it is called “hacker not cracker” is because I am a hacker (a computer enthusiaist), not a cracker (a “black-hat” hacker). Read more about this new blog and my explanation in the first introductory post. Like the other blogs that I started in the past, I will be moving some articles on this blog to the new hacker blog for relevance.

Diskcopy.exe – Floppy Disk Imaging and Virtualization Part I

In my articles on Daemon Tools and ISO Buster, I introduced freeware applications that let you create and manipulate *.ISO image files, or files that are exact CD/DVD replicas. In ISO Buster, you can rip *.ISO images. In Daemon Tools you can create virtual CD/DVD drives from those *.ISO images so that they act just like real disks inserted into the computer.
